okk. here's a photoblog page of how i spent my CNY in 2007. i didn't take everything that i do.. but heh.. do enjoy the pictures yeah.
i was inspired by erica lai's domestic corners and here's just something which i wanted to portray of this house. it's a very very old house.it's my grandma's house. my mom doesn't come from a well off family. therefore, the house don't get much of an upgrade and the only resident family in the house is my uncle. he repairs motors for living and business has been bad. i don't know how old this house is. much of this house is constructed with wood.
alright. here're the photos.
eve of CNY.
i come here every CNY to celebrate CNY or rather my family goes together.
i'll start off with the kitchen first. that's the first place i went when i reached muar. muar is in malaysia by the way. famous for their otahs and jeez. they are good ok! every year, i down about 100 or more otahs during CNY. with jolly shandy.. yummy!

i kinda like how everything just looks so old together.

and u see here, the cooking area.

a better picture of the wok.

and some random pics of other corners of the house.

the "door" of a room.. i like it man. so.. it's like meeting the bride. haha

where u hang ur clothes..

and the bathing room. woo jeez. i tell u. u won't want to bathe there if u watched too much horror flicks. u hear all sorts of insects sound. i opened the door and i was greeted by a giant lizard on my left. freaks out! and the water is really cold! there's a well located at the side of the bathroom.

a wider perspective of the bathroom and the place to have clothes. this is the left of the side house. the right side doesn't have anything much. just grass..

a corner under the mangosteen tree to chill. but i bet you won't dare. cos lizards, roaches are roaming around.

and we go into the living room. kinda 90s feel!

some closeups..
this kinda reminds me of the childhood days my mom had. was just trying to imagine how 12 children lived together with their parents. yes.. 7 sisters and 5 brothers.. quite a big family! with some kids running around playing, some working to support the family and some could even barely walk.. the age gap is pretty big. just imagine i'm already an uncle to some of my cousin's kids and my mom's oldest brother's kids are around the same age as my mom!

i remembered that my uncle won this for me in a funfair ages ago. i was around 7-9 years old. i couldn't bring it back cos it was too big.

old switches.

Singer is a brand of sewing machines. just remembered how my mom used to sew to support us when we were much younger. it was because she had to take care of us, and sewing was one of the many jobs that u could do at home. so yea, being at home to work and take care of us.
i was not allowed to take off the cover because.. i was told it's very very dusty.

and i went to sleep.. i couldn't sleep very well.. it was just so noisy with all the fireworks cracking and popping!
1st day of CNY.
i was just trying to grab a sunrise shot if possible. oh yes. i woke up pretty early! like 830am! hahaha
in front of the house is a road. a long long road. almost everyone travels by motorcycles. weee. i haven't sat in one for a long time.

neighbour's car. just reminded me of a shot i saw in roxy catalogue.

then i walked around again trying to find some pics. and oh yea.this is the back of the house. they used to rear ducks and chickens. they had a farm and it's demolished now. i didn't asked why. one thing i really liked were the eggs! u dun need to put soy sauce in the eggs! naturally salty and nice flavored. :) my mom loves the chickens the most. she likes the texture of it, but i don't dig it in any sense. i remembered how i was chasing the chickens and shooting them with my water gun when the farm was still there..

then, my dad and i went out for breakfast.
some pics on the way.

the remains of a fire-cracker.

i've always liked to take pictures of their cables hanging in the skies.

my dad and i love food and we like to try foods. so this was the first stop. nasi lemak with sambal chilli, ikan bilis and peanuts. all for RM$0.70 cents per packet. chilli was awesome!!

closeup. i'm no food photographer. but trust me, it's nice!

most shops were closed. so we had prata. ooh jeez. it was good lah!!!! the curry was yummy!!

went back home and then, my uncle suggested to go papaya plantation. it's part of the family's assets and they make a living by selling papayas. apparently, not much money. around RM200 per week. but the papayas are sweet man! the pineapples too! sweet! not sour sour ones like u eat in sg.

ready to bring back!

i love the colours! this place is kinda good for shoots! KIV for future!

and i end my photoblog. the rest were just sleeping, eating and visitations.
a dramatic sky and a starry nite(not that starry after all.)
